Bubba’s 33 History
The late Kent Taylor was the mind behind this food franchise. He was the CEO of Tax Roadhouse. In his lifetime, he expanded that business to over 500 locations.
He tried to duplicate that same level of success with a new kind of food franchise. The main goal of this franchise was to provide the highest-quality food that anyone could ask for.
Bubba was the nickname of Taylor, and as for the two digits, they came from the prohibition that ended in 1933. The 33 number came from the last two digits of that year.
The first Bubba’s 33 doesn’t go beyond the 21st century. It’s a rather new business in town that originated in 2013.
It’s been 21 years since then. It was the sweet month of May when the first Bubba’s 33 restaurants popped up in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Texas Roadhouse was the backbone of this newborn. But Bubba’s 33 did not like to burden their parent company that much.
This was to expand their staff and management system while also slowly reducing the stress from their parent company.
In 2018, the revenue of Bubba’s 33 spiked by 24%. This was due to the rumors that some random restaurants serve freshly baked dishes instead of reheating frozen ones.
When Bubba’s 33 first came out, people did not know who they were. Maybe another newbie mimicking big brands like KFC or Domino’s? Yeah, that was the exact thought flowing through the minds of first-time customers.
But all that confusion went away the minute the pizza was served. It was pure and fresh, and even the sauce was freshly ground. The flavors were surreal, and the same warm meal got everyone hooked.
Bubba’s 33 Review
We started with 33 Deluxe. Why, you may ask? Well, it has the brand name carved into it. So we just had to try it out; it doesn’t matter how!
It had pepperoni, red and green peppers, a red onion, mushrooms, Italian sausage, black olives, and scratch-made tomato sauce. That sauce is probably the big attraction that took the flavors to the next level.
One of our crew went with the Fresh Veggie. This pizza item had veggies in it, which is probably the best choice for vegan lovers.
It had red and green peppers, red onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, black olives, and, as always, scratch-made tomato sauce.
These weren’t immediately on our table since everything was freshly baked and served. So we ordered cooked fried cheese from the starter section.
These were deep-fried mozzarella cheese sticks. These yellow, bite-sized sticks were then served with their scratch-made marinara. Meanwhile, some ordered layered cheese fries.
These were crispy-seasoned fries topped with queso, bacon, melted cheese, and green onions. They were served with ranch dressing.
Bubba’s 33 menu also had a salad section, so we ordered an Italian chopped salad. It was a massive mixture of salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, mozzarella, turkey, and provolone cheeses.
That’s not all; it also had tomato, cucumber, and red onion, topped with Parmesan, iceberg lettuce, and fresh basil. A lemon basil vinaigrette was served on the side with scratch-made garlic focaccia bread.
That’s a big list, isn’t it? Well, most of the salad items were professionally made, and each ingredient just fell right in place. There were no weird flavors; everything was balanced to the bone.
