Pizza Inn History
Pizza Inn was founded by F.J. (Joe) and R. L. Spillman, two Texas brothers from Dallas who decided to start their business right in their hometown.
The concept of this chain solely relied on luck and a lot of flavors. The first locations were spotted in 1958 when Italian dishes were still being introduced in the USA.
That’s why, despite being good, the popularity boom didn’t happen that well until the mid-80s, when an advertising deal happened with the Von Erich family.
The Texas brothers appeared in a television program along with Kerry Von Erich, Kevin Von Erich, and Mike Von Erich.
This was the point where a massive number of customers started pouring in. By this time, Pizza Inn had crossed double digits.
In 2011, a new concept was introduced to the general public called Pie Five Pizza. It specializes in making pizzas in under 5 minutes while providing an intense course of customization for its customers.
Later that year, five locations were opened in Hangzhou, China. Before the year ended, Pie Five Pizza had about five locations in the Fort Worth area.
Next year, PepsiCo and Yum! Brands executive Randy Gier joined the gang in 2012 as the new CEO. He stayed in the business for 5 years as per the agreement.
When Pie Five locations started to reach triple digits, the parent company, Pizza Inn Holdings, was renamed Rave Restaurant Group, or RAVE for short.
It became the portfolio company, managing the funds and other business activities for these popular locations.
In 2021, when the Pizza Inn CEO released a statement questioning the legitimacy of the election in 2020.

Anyway, our first meal of the day was a chicken fajita. A savory pizza made with fine slices of grilled chicken.

We kept everything to default, except for the crust, which we swapped out for the Medium size.

A salty, sweet, and spicy layer filled with a lot of creamy cheese, tomato, and onion—and how can we forget the tender grilled chicken?
Each ingredient was baked with care, and none of them burned or had any uncooked sides to them. Spicy pizza right out of the oven—what more can we ask for?
Well, it turned out that they did something totally insane with their pizzas! They turned it into a dessert!!!!
Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like—totally insane—and surprisingly, it’s one of the top sellers of the day. Maybe throughout the year too; who knows?
They call it! Pizza and desserts are combined on a single plate, flipping their roles completely upside down.
Each pizza dough is baked to perfection daily while also adding the sweetest toppings to the original mix.
It is basically a pie disguised as a pizza. And yeah, it doesn’t taste salty. All, it’s sweet, and the baked dough stretches the flavors, turning it into a slow dish that catches its desired flavor over each bite.
