Pizza Schmizza History

Pizza Schmizza Inside usamenuprices

Pizza Schmizza was first spotted in Hillsboro, Oregon on August 6, 1993. It was founded by brothers Andre and Roger Jehan.

Apart from their iconic pizza slice, Schmizza is also known for their community work. Especially ones that get lots of hats instead of love.

In 2003, Pizza Hut received numerous complaints for hiring homeless people. These weren’t full-time jobs; instead, they were offered to hold a sign.

It said, “Pizza Schmizza paid me to hold this sign instead of asking for money.” This resulted in many backlashes.

Owner Andre Jehan ruled it out by saying that Pizza Hut is helping homeless people with this idea. In fact, those same homeless people supported his claim and said they had a positive experience.

Next year, they supported an independent program discouraging the young generation or underage people from consuming alcohol.

Pizza Schmizza received a media award for that from the Oregon Department of Human Services. There are countless cases where they did something different and got rewarded.

On March 31, 2008, Pizza Schmizza was acquired by Figaro’s Pizza. It was due to their CEO, who was unable to take part in daily activities.

This only lasted for 6 years, and in 2014, Pizza Schmizza spun off from Figaro’s Pizza, and now it acts independently just like before.

There was another good instance during the COVID era. In 2020, Pizza Schmizza announced that you’ll get one toilet paper free with each order.

It sounds funny now, but in the middle of a toilet paper crisis, that was like a diamond in the rough. I still remember one single roll costing more than a dinner at some point.

Now the owner has started a new business with the name Schmizza International, which is supposed to be an upscaled version of its ghost.

Pizza Schmizza Review

Pizza Schmizza menus and prices have evolved a lot. The price in particular has been raised by 10% in the past year.

It’s just fair when we think about it. Surprisingly, the most famous item on the list was anything but pizza.

Alfredo Chicken, for example. This creamy chicken delight was made using chicken breast, penne pasta, creamy Alfredo sauce, and parmesan cheese.

Combined, it looks like a creamy white mess, but does it taste good? Hell yeah. Despite the look, it is really creamy. And the chicken, in particular, melts right in your mouth.

It also includes garlic, parsley, shredded palm, and two dipsticks, which are basically bread in a smaller size.

While big chefs focus on decorating and sometimes make the flavor worse, Pizza Schmizza, on the other hand, solely focuses on the quality and quantity of it.

Well, it’s a pizza, so we had to pick at least one of them before leaving. And it came as this Uncle Buck Pizza.

Quite a fascinating name and it includes Canadian bacon, ground beef, chopped tomatoes, and cilantro.

And man, oh man, this pizza looks so good! No, really, it looks fantastic, and it’ll force your mouth to make those sweet hunger-inducing waters, whether you like it or not.

The smell is super strong, and the Canadian bacon looks quite appetizing. That’d be all good and all, but does it taste any good?

You bet it did; this isn’t like anything we have had so far. It has a unique kind of vibe to it, and I could identify the taste of each ingredient.

Each party tastes different, but still, they fall in place together like they were made for each other. Truly a masterpiece deserving of a thousand praises!

Final Thoughts

There are so many surprises, and there is so little appetite. It’s not their fault; it’s ours because we went there after our lunch.

We thought maybe we’d eat a pizza or two, and that’s it. But in the end, the Pizza Schmizza menu offered so much good food that we had no choice but to go for seconds.

Small and regional chains usually have the best flavors. Sure, they cost a bit more than the big leagues, but in reality, it’s totally worth it.

So, what are you waiting for? Book your order right now before anything goes wrong. Who knows, maybe another outbreak will begin next weekend!

Pizza Schmizza gets full marks this time. Next time, we will try out their other dishes, like pasta, sandwiches, and desserts. At least I’m looking forward to it.
