Yellow Cab Pizza History

It was founded by three guys named Eric Puno, Henry Lee, and Albert Tan. The first store opened on Makati Avenue in 2001.

It’s a well-known location in the Philippines, which played a big role in making this pizza a success.

The first two words made it sound like a transportation service, while it sold food. In fact, their delivery scooters were inspired by NYC-style cabs with a mixture of yellow and black.

Yellow Cab also owns a separate fast-food chain called Max’s Restaurant. This is KFC in the Philippines, which sells exactly what it sounds like.

There was another one called Army Navy Burger Burrito, but it later spun off from its parent company and started operating on its own.

The major expansion plan started 14 years after the massive success in the Philippines. By that point, they had over 200 stores, which later got cut by 20% during the COVID era.

Anyway, in 2016, Yellow Cab’s owner, Max’s Group Inc., signed with Silver Group, a Qatar-based franchisor, to open 22 locations in the next 5 years.

Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman were finalized as the main locations, and the expansion plan began in motion in January 2017.

Next month, the owner of Yellow Cab signed another contract with Blue Star Food Corporation to open 12 locations in Vietnam.

More stores opened around the globe, in a total of nine countries with over 400 stores (not confirmed). Anyway, Yellow Cab has a few ties with the sports world too.

Mostly in the Philippines, with football and Motorsports. There was also a lawsuit against Green Cab Pizza Haus for using a similar logo.

Yellow Cab won the lawsuit, and the opposite side was forced to pay 400,000 pesos. It’s equal to $7000 as per the current currency rate.

Yellow Cab Pizza Review

Most of your doubts should be wiped out regarding the Yellow Cab Pizza menu or prices. It has a wide variety of menus that you don’t see every day.

Korean BBQ Wings, for example, came with six super crunchy all-white chicken wings, covered with some secret sauce, and then fired inside a hot BBQ.

Anyway, next up was a promo dish called Solo Meal Houston. It’s a combo that comes with your choice of pizza, pasta, and wings, but at half the price. Yup, the wings, for example, a normal dish comes with 6.

But here you’ll get 3; the same goes for pizza and pasta. But it gives you room to enjoy all of them and still end up with a little gap in your tummy for more!

Our preferred choices were New York’s Finest, Shrimp Charlie Chan for Pasta, and Hot Chix for Wings.

Just so you know, this wing has a lot of heat in it! Go for Korean BBQ; it has a balanced flavor. As for the pizza, it has a 9-inch crust filled with tons of ingredients.

For example, Italian sausage, ham, ground beef, bacon, pepperoni, black olives, onions, bell peppers, and fresh button mushrooms.

It’s the best-seller after all! So we expected no less, and all these ingredients were as fresh as they could be.

Especially the mushrooms—not everyone’s choice, but believe me, I have tasted worse!

Everything is made with such perfection that even mushroom haters will love it. Other ingredients well balance the texture and flavors, making sure that not even a single ingredient overwhelms others.

That’s why neither the mushrooms nor the ham have a super strong fragrance. In the end, we got a mixture of things that just tasted super good, without any doubt.

Final Thoughts

The Yellow Cab Pizza menu has a lot to offer, but most of them are as fulfilling as you just saw, and as a bonus, they come in very generous portions.

Returning every single penny that you invest without holding back. The ingredients especially deserve a lot of praise; they are truly the best in town.

Most meats are grounded in the kitchen daily instead of reheating already half-prepared ones. Pizza Crust seems to be doing okay too.

It ain’t extraordinary, nor super thick, but at least we are getting a wide range of toppings that fill the gap left behind by the thin crust.
