Hamburger Stand History
Wienerschnitzel, or Der Wienerschnitzel War, is the mastermind behind this idea. It tried adding hamburgers to its menu in 1979, which didn’t go well.
So in the following year, Wienerschnitzel started two chains, both of which specialized in making hamburgers.
The first one was the Original Hamburger Stand, and the second one was Weldon’s Gourmet Hamburgers. This second chain was eventually closed down permanently due to poor sales.
The Original Hamburger Stand was selling all of its products for 39 cents each. It was much cheaper, which again didn’t end up making huge profits as expected.
So the final location of its sister company was closed down and replaced by the Original Hamburger Stand.
Mostly around the dense areas of Denver, Colorado, and the western parts of the city, which later turned out to be a good decision.
Wienerschnitzel was a subsidiary of the Galardi Group, so you can say most of its decisions came from Gelardi himself.
He remained the top executive until April 13th, 2013, when he passed away from pancreatic cancer.
His ex-wife, Cynthia Galardi-Culpepper, later became the CEO of his group, continuing the legacy on his behalf.
The actions of both the sister and parent companies affected The Originally Hamburger Stand greatly. Its existence was sometimes strong, and sometimes it wasn’t.
Ultimately, it managed to survive with 13 active locations as of now. Maybe more is about to come; only time can tell.
In 2003, Galardi Group Group became the franchisor of a fast food chain specializing in soft-serve ice cream, and it was called Tastee-Freez.
Tastee-Freez only has 4 remaining locations to its name; the rest are served in other restaurants under the Galardi Group, and its number goes way beyond 350.

Each bite was deep-fried to perfection, and the outside was covered in a sweet honey corn batter. It was simply delicious food, and surprisingly, it left a good impression on us.
The next up was a bit heavy, and it’s called the Junkyard Chili Cheeseburger. Wait! Does it have junk? Well, it’s called junk food for a reason.
But don’t worry; there are no weird ingredients in it. The hamburger patty was made with 100% USDA beef, grilled to perfection, and then topped with French fries.
It came with Wienerschnitzel’s secret chili sauce—yup, the same one who bought this chain and later disappeared for the most part.
It also has a slice of American cheese, grilled onions, and a whole load of fragrancy mustard. It’s spicy by nature, so make sure that your mouth can handle it.
It managed to recreate a load of flavors despite including simple ingredients. Overall, this was the most cost-effective cheeseburger we ever had!
I got a plate of Classic Chili Cheese Fries and Freeze to sum it up. The fries came flooded with the same signature sauce as the hamburger.
Quite underrated flavors for this price tag. The soft-served drink came from Tastee Freez, another brand acquired by the parent company.
Overall, everything tasted good. Nothing too shabby, just a good meal that we won’t deny!
