Daylight Donuts History
The first Daylight Donuts store came up in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1954. The founder Tommy and Lucille Day started the bakery house and began producing doughnuts mixed during the day hours and selling them to shops in the afternoon from the trunk of their car.
The Day couple claimed that they created a specialty doughnut mix that was lighter in consistency and was ever more flavorful.
Owing to its soft and light texture, the founders named their start-up Daylight Donuts Flour Co. Mr. Day was in the baking industry for quite a long time and used his experience to run the business very successfully.
By the 1960s Daylight Donuts had been a successful venture in Tulsa. The sales of Daylight Donuts also increased and the demands of Daylight Donuts led to the hiring of two employees in a 20,000 square facility to house the business.

From the Hulls, John and Sheila Bond purchased Daylight Donuts in 2002, however, the Bonds continue to contribute to the ideas of new products and business concepts via a 65,000-square-foot state-of-the-art machinery location.
