Flanigan’s History

Flanigan was a visionary who excelled at Eastman Dillon. He took part in bigger deals and even earned the favor of many businessmen at the time.

McManus’ family was one of the core ones on the list. McManus sold their company, Crown Cork & Seal Co.

It was making bottle caps, and soon McManus turned to Fanigan for investment. With new reserved funds, Fanigan decided to invest in bars in Florida.

This investment plan also had a name, “Big Daddy’s.” Yes, it’s the same name we all see today written on the billboards.

But it wasn’t a restaurant like we have right now. The starting stores were small cocktail lounges that started serving in 1959.

Anyway, this gave him the name Joe “Big Daddy” Flanigan. But the struggle has only become worse since then.

The drinking contents and other promotional methods were effective, but that did not solve the lack of a solid capital source.

Despite that, they managed to accumulate $15 million in just ten years. Remember that in your 20s, this was a massive achievement.

But the capital issue was pretty bad. So to fix that, he went public with his decision. By sharing stocks in 1972, after four years of public offerings, those $15 million turned into $38 million.

But it wouldn’t last long, and in 1975, the backlash from the leaseback scheme caused a huge misfortune.

Profits were miserable, and as a result, locations closed slowly. This up-and-down went on for a while until 1985 when Flanigan’s filed for bankruptcy.

But after four years, they managed to make enough profit to rise again. But it also ended with the closure of 10 more locations.

Flanigan’s Review

The past was terrible indeed, and that’s why their current number sits somewhere around 20 locations. Still, it’s not shabby, considering many just wouldn’t bother regaining their pride.

Flanigan’s menu introduced many iconic dishes while all that happened. Let’s start with the award-winning baby back ribs.

It’s Flanigan’s original; each rib is cooked low and slow. Then it’s bathed in their tangy-sweet BBQ sauce and char-grilled to perfection.

It comes in two sizes: a half rack and a full rack. It’s a big meal, but if you want something light, then look no further than Joe’s Rockin’ Rib RollsTM.

This Flanigan’s menu is stuffed with homemade and deep-fried egg rolls with meat that comes directly from their legendary famous baby back ribs.

Other items on this starter pack include pulled pork, onions, cheddar cheese, and Flanigan’s BBQ sauce.

Firecracker Shrimptm will also make you go wow. It has a dozen plump, deep-fried shrimp, which are tossed in a slightly spicy cream sauce. Plus a bed of iceberg lettuce and pico di gallo as topping.

Well, if you are a fan of KFC chickens, then Chicken Stickerstm is made just for you.

It includes half a dozen all-white meat chicken tenders in their homemade breading, fried to a golden brown.

There was also a signature dish called Fresh Dolphin. Sounds pretty cool, right? Anyway, it used fresh dolphin, AKA Mahi-Mahi.

Surprisingly, it was a wildly popular Flanigan’s signature dish. It can be ordered as an entrée or a sandwich.

It comes in five kinds of cooking styles: blackened, broiled, grilled, sautéed, or fried. The Flanigan’s menu prices are so affordable that you can enjoy all these yummy items mentioned here.

Final Thoughts

Flanigan’s menu with prices came a long way. In desperate times, it turned from a bar into a full-blown restaurant.

It doesn’t matter how or when you go; Flanigan’s menu will always welcome you with a warm welcome. That’s the exact impression that we got each time we visited there.

The main menu is just massive, but Flanigan’s still had enough space for the Kids and Deserts section. Also, yeah, how can we forget the savory drink part?

The drink section is from regular drinks like soda, lemonade, and iced tea to full-on liquors like vodka and rum.

Flanigan’s menu has a dish for all. Whether it’s cute kids or adults, what are you waiting for? The Flanigan’s menu prices list is here. Decide, what to eat and visit now.
