In short, people can eat inside or outside a trolley car. And obviously, most of them picked the trolley car over dining outside like regular people do.

It gave them a sense of superiority or a unique experience that made them stand out.

Spaghetti Warehouse History

The Spaghetti Warehouse was opened in 1972 in Dallas, Texas, by Robert B. Hawk.

Their motto had different variations, like “The Wearhouse,” “Go Out to Eat,” and “each other.” But in the end, all that referred to their tradition.

It was family-oriented and focused on good old Italian recipes like lasagna, pasta, spaghetti, etc.

Throughout the year, their empire grew to five other locations, but due to a similar marketing strategy as the Old Spaghetti Factory, it did not go well.

All Italian restaurants offer something unique one way or another, but those who try to copy it may or may not survive. It all depends on what their origins are.

For example, KFC transpired many chicken-specific fast food chains, and most of them are still running. But the trolley car had a different charm.

It doesn’t matter how hard someone copies it; the original will always be the real deal, and probably that was the reason why Spaghetti Warehouse Dallas moved twice.

And eventually got sold multiple times. Spaghetti Warehouse Columbus formally opened around 1978 with an 800-seat capacity.

Well, still, their food was good, so it got the attention of many buyers who saw potential in it. In 1998, Consolidated Restaurant Co. bought it.

Only to be sold again in 2007 when Frandeli, Inc. bought it. They still hold it to this day. Now their biggest attraction is not the food; instead, it’s the building itself.

Now most of their restaurants are built on a historical building, renovating it and giving it a new vibe where people can feel the history while also filling their tummies.

Spaghetti Warehouse Review

Spaghetti is the most loved item on the Spaghetti Warehouse menu. But when we arrived in the middle of Valentine’s week.

So we have a few special meal options for couples. This offer lasted from February 10th to February 17th. Most of the items listed there were for special lovers.

And the best part is that you can have two seats to yourself for $59 only! The menu was divided into five parts, like all Italian restaurants do.

Everything started with an appetizer and then continued with entrees, desserts, and multiple beverage options.

Anyway, let’s see some of their main menus, shall we? This was a limited-time deal, so by the time you reach there, it’ll be over.

Their Incredible 15-layer Lasagna had the most incredible taste of all. We had no idea that it was a classic until the waiter presented it with a short introduction.

It had layer after layer of lasagna noodles, a choice of meat sauce or Alfredo sauce, ground beef and Romano, Italian pork sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese.

As for spaghetti, they had three special ones. Except for base noodles, you can have either meatball, classic sauce, or your choice of sauce.

We recommend going with the classic sauce, which has the perfect balance of sweetness and heat. It’ll refresh your taste buds with an entirely new one.

And how can we miss the massive family meal? It is a family restaurant after all, and it’s just obvious that there will be at least one family-oriented menu.

In this giant combo, you can pick two lasagnas, two chicken parmesan, a choice of salad, a choice of spaghetti with meat sauce or fettuccini Alfredo, and sourdough bread included.

Final Thoughts

As time stands, most of the old locations are closed. So your closest one may already be closed.

But the good news is that Spaghetti Warehouse holds a good number of shares of The Old Spaghetti Factory.

So in most cases, it’ll be run by the original trolley car guys, which makes it more than worth it. You can check out our recent article on them and learn about their special dishes.

As for the rest of the items from Spaghetti Warehouse, they had a few specialty entrees. Like chicken masala, for example.

The main base was a grilled chicken breast smothered in their house-made mushroom marsala sauce, served with your choice of side dish.

Marsala is a variation of Masala that Indians like to call. It means a mix of spices. But if that’s not your style, then Herb-Grilled Sirloin Steak is the best alternative.

It was marinated in 8-ounce sirloin with fresh herb oil and grilled, served with a choice of side dish. Remember that customers can specify the grill type.

Some like deep charcoal, while others may prefer low heat. Surprisingly, this much freedom is still a thing. Anyway, it’s your call.
