Pita Pit is a Canadian quick-serve restaurant that mainly aims at the bellies of the young generation. Below, you will find the Pita Pit menu with prices and much more.

The first Pita Pita Restaurant was aimed at students at Queen’s University. But soon it’s late at night, and the fresh sandwich becomes a big hit.

What do students like to eat? Something that doesn’t take a lot of time. Since they have limited time for lunch, that gets reduced further when they have to travel to the nearest store.

So let’s cut that to 30 minutes at most. Meanwhile, Pita Pit took hold of that and opened their stores around the college campus.

It stayed on until late at night, providing freshly made sandwiches and other commodities. Now this trend has turned itself into a massive giant with over 500 stores around the world.

Pita Pit History

Nelson Lang and John Sotiriadis opened the first Pita Pit restaurants in 1995 around the campus of Queen’s University.

It was located in Kingston and aimed at providing recession-proof meals for students. Normally, students pack lunch from home, which gets cold and mushy when the time comes.

This is not just unhealthy, but a total waste of food. That’s why the Pita Pita menu included inexpensive items, from sandwiches to chips.

And that attracted not just a few but thousands of students to their shore. Their food has always been cheaper than the competition, and their special system grants discounts to students.

Anyway, in 1997, Pita Pita expanded to more areas in Canada. Just two years later, in 1999, they began franchising in America.

It was their first international movement to provide the same experience to more students. In 2007, it was expanded to New Zealand by Chris Henderson.

He was a native of that region and had the opportunity to return to his homeland as the regional officer of Pita Pita.

By 2011, their number had grown to an astounding 250 in Canada, the USA, and four other countries. As of today, they serve in a total of 13 countries, and India is one of them.

Thankfully, there is no tragic news about their past. But we know so much that now Pita Pita is owned by Foodastic.

This acquisition happened on September 1, 2021, and now they hold most of the Pita Pita locations. This big company is governed by a Québécois franchisor.

Pita Pit Review

Enough history lesson; now comes the most important part, and that’s the food. Their menu is filled with small- to large-portion meal options.

For example, the Winter Heat Plate is on the first rack of recommendations. It was on a limited-time sale that contained a mix of 10 Assorted Pita’s.

This combo goes like this: Jerk Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, BIlackbean, Southwest Steak, and Thai Chicken. Well, we weren’t that hungry, so we had to go with something lighter.

So we went with OP chicken breast. It had chicken as the main ingredient, along with spinach, tomato, green pepper, tzatziki, and feta.

This came in many different flavors, and most of them had triple-pack combos. So if you are with your friends or maybe one serving ain’t enough, then go for the combo option.

And yeah, we forgot to mention that you can also pick your choice of bread. It had three options: white pita bread, whole wheat pita bread, and gluten-free.

The first two won’t cost you a single penny, but for gluten-free, it’ll cost somewhere around $2 extra. Remember that prices are subject to change, but in most cases, they’ll be around that amount.

As for side dishes, it had cookies and classic chips like Doritos, Lay’s, and so on. We already know what chips taste like, so this time we just had to go with cookies.

Double chocolate cookie, to be exact. It had the crunchiest chocolate flavor, topped with chocolate chips.

The drinks were ordinary like you’d expect. But the smoothie options were extravagant. It had five flavors to choose from, and we went with the chocolate banana one.

Meanwhile, Strawberry Banana Smoothie seemed like a favorite from the girl’s side. Anyway, you get the point.

Final Thoughts

Eventually, one thing went unnoticed, and that was a kid’s meal. Later, we realized that all meals had a small portion option, which counted as a kids’ meal.

Well, that was no surprise since all they had to do was use a smaller dough and fewer ingredients. Also, the catering option had a good number of options.

We already explained one of them, so let’s skip that. As for vegan lovers, the Pita Pita menu also had Veggie Lover’s Pita Platter.

Its platter selection was like this: Falafel, Garden with Cheddar, Garden with Feta, Spicy Black Bean, and Hummus.

The Pita Pita delivery service was quite fun. If someone orders larger meals, like three catering menus, then they can have exclusive home delivery. Meanwhile, for others, you have to pick it up right at the ordering time.

Some may think it’s unnecessary, but we think it’s a way to show gratitude for their immense contribution. Or maybe they weren’t able to finish in time! Who knows?
